Davenport Lustre Wares

In the mid 19th century Davenport became famous for the quality of their 'opaque china'. Various hand painted pink, silver and purple lustre designs were produced, mainly on tea and dessert wares. Few marked pieces seem to have survived - here is a fine cup and saucer, impressed and dated 1865.
